Cristiano Ronaldo has indicated that he will leave his club team Al Nassr and may end his connection with the Lucrative Saudi Pro league.
The 40-year-old Portugal striker only announced hours after the final game of his club that “this chapter on his account is over on the social media platform X”.
The article contained a picture of him in an Al -Nassr jersey and concluded: “The story? You are still written. Thankful.”
The speculations are now exaggerated where the former striker of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus will move next.
Al Jazeer takes a look at what could come to one of the most bankrupt assets of world football in the coming days and possible options for a player.
Why should Ronaldo Al Nassr leave?
Ronaldo came to Al Nassr from Manchester United in January 2023 to shock the world.
The five-time world player of the year was the marquee, which signed that the Saudi Pro-Liga had to increase its global reputation.
His lucrative two and a half year old deal, which was estimated to be 200 million euros ($ 214.5 million), ends in June, but was expected to be renewed.
Al Nassr has not managed to win titles in the club in Ronaldo’s time and to disappoint a place at the FIFA Club World Championship and in the Asian Champions League after taking third place in the league this season.
A place in the Asian Champions League two is now the best that you can hope for through a playoff.
This chapter is over.
The story? Still be written.

Can Ronaldo play at the FIFA Club World Championship?
Yes. The 32 teams involved in the World Cup have granted a special transfer window for the signing of players.
It runs on June 14 to June 1st to June 10th on June 14, when Inter Miami faces Al Aly.
What was FIFA President Infantino at the Ronaldo World Cup?
FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced last week that there were “discussions” about Ronaldo in the enlarged and renamed tournament.
Which FIFA Club World Championship teams could possibly join Ronaldo?
1. Real Madrid
Ronaldo became Galactico when he moved to the Spanish Giants from Manchester United in 2009 to receive a world record fee of 80 million euros ($ 91 million).
Even a short-term step back to real for the tournament is unlikely, since the fights that Los Blancos had, the best way for Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo to find the three front three when Real tried to defend his Champions League and La Liga title.
Since Jude Bellingham has to be adapted to a new role last season last season, since Mbappe’s arrival of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) adapts arrival of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), it is difficult to present a real return for Ronaldo.
Another of his former clubs at the tournament is Juventus and at least offers the option of an emotional reunification. But because such a step would only be in the short term, it is unlikely that Juventus would like to annoy the play group that they qualified for the tournament.
2. Inter Miami
The biggest overriding train would undoubtedly be for a connection to Ronaldo’s career rivals for the title of the best player in the world, Lionel Messi.
The Argentine striker left Paris Saint-Germain to join Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2023 to David Beckham-Co ownership.
It was a sensational score for Miami when Ronaldo himself had been associated with a switch to the MLS before he joined al Nassr.
If Ronaldo’s participation in the club world championship of Infantino and FIFA is viewed as a boost for the competition, there would clearly be no larger headliner grave than a connection between two players who shared the title of the world player of the year with 13 cases.
Last week when he was asked whether Inter Miami Ronaldo could sign, Infantino laughed and replied: “It is possible.”
3 .. al Hilal
The Saudi Pro-Liga winner from 2023-2024 al Hilal is a strong contender for Ronaldo’s signature.
The step makes a lot of sense for all parties. The marquee for the Saudi inland league remains in competition, plays at the Club World Championship and will lead the Saudi attack for the Asian Champions League in the next season.
For Ronaldo it would mean staying in the Saudi capital, where many of its current business and trade interests are based.
The other options in the region, which are also represented at the World Club Championship, are Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates and a change to the challenge for the African Champions League next season with Egyptian giants Al Aly. The loss of Ronaldo against a neighboring football nation is certainly something that the Saudi Pro League would rather avoid.
4. Botafogo
The Spanish newspaper Marca reported last week that Ronaldo speaks in conversations with the Brazilian Mega Club-Botafogo.
This message made a lot of sense at that time because you could possibly afford a short -term contract with Ronaldo. However, this message came before the player’s announcement that his time could have ended with Al Nassr.
A long -term step to Brazil, despite its football culture and his inheritance, seems unlikely. A short-term offer remains an option unless a change to a club world champion participant who wants a contract for the end of the competition.
Palmeiras, Fluminense and Flamengo also represent the tournament’s top Brazilian flight.
5. Seattle SUNDERS
One step that may offer the cleanest solution for Ronaldo’s appearance at the World Club World Championship is to sign a long-term contract with one of the participants based in the USA.
Similar to the desire of the Saudi Pro League to increase their exposure, the MLS would be significantly reinforced by Ronaldo’s signature in a connection with Messi or against the Argentine on an opposing side.
A move to the Seattle Sounders, the MLS champions, would also bring credibility to his appearance in the competition as part of a longer potential plan to support themselves in the United States.
Could Messi and Ronaldo play together?
The thrill of a potential connection between Messi and Ronaldo at the World Club Championship goes beyond the couple’s position game, but also a great topic of conversation was a collaboration with Inter Miami, which was to be arranged.
Messi’s preference is to either play on the right, to cut on his famous left foot or in a deeper role in the middle, with the team playing around him.
Ronaldo, who began on the left flank, now works exclusively in the middle, but preferred in a more advanced position to that of Messi.
Both scenarios could work, but both would mean that Messi would run into the area of the field occupied by Ronaldo, and there the viability of a potential partnership in the field would be questioned.
The couple have been rivals for the famous Ballon d’Apt for a long time and made the annual award ceremony to name the best player in the world as often tense affair.
The debate about who was at its peak of the better players raged in La Liga with Messi in Barcelona and Ronaldo in Real Madrid.
It was often a conversation to which the couple contributed cryptically over the years, while there was noticeably no love when the duo met on the field.
A partnership at the Club World Championship would be one of the largest cash events in football history and would attract urgently needed attention to the competition.
Whether your longstanding rivalry and its differences could be brought to one side would be the biggest hurdle for perhaps the biggest Matchup in the history of sport.
