About position
Staff software engineers are primarily responsible for developing, maintaining and tuning the various backend components, prioritizing product stability while ensuring feature delivery is tailored to technical standards and project timelines. Acting as a senior individual contributor to the team, he employs complex project ownership, technical orientation and leadership peers through code reviews, pair programming, and improvement sessions. You will also be responsible for additional teams, including but not limited to becoming a designated technical leader on your team, endorsing high-quality coding standards, overseeing tickets and document processes, working with product management to prioritize work, managing technical obligations, and driving engineering improvements. We also plan sprints and defend initiatives including, but not limited to, optimizing performance, re-editing efforts, or improving infrastructure.

what you do:
  • Develop software that matches specifications and design to ensure that your code is well tested, maintained and documented.
  • Works autonomously with minimal monitoring and provides production-ready solutions that prioritize long-term maintenance and support.
  • Act as a subject expert for your team’s products and contribute to complex algorithmic tasks, functional design, and broader technical standards.
  • Create, communicate and defend design decisions for teams and the broader engineering organization through demonstration sessions, chapter meetings and architectural reviews.
  • Take ownership of Jira Epics or large tasks, drive them to complete, and demonstrate your work to ensure that you meet your requirements.
  • Manage build, release, and changelogging while adapting development efforts to suit your team’s SDLC.
  • Oversees engineering briefs, reviews architectural design documents, and supports team members through regular check-in and feedback while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  • Mentor Engineers will promote team pull request reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical guidance on design and best practices. and
  • Become a designated technical lead of the team including the following responsibilities:
  • Working with products, we improve Jira tasks, estimate development activity efforts, and align POD priorities with roadmap timelines.
  • Oversee the JIRA standards for team work and ensure that work is properly collected with clear and specific acceptance standards.
  • Identify and document technical debt and translate it into practical tickets for review. and
  • Oversee and review the technical work of PODs to ensure functionality stability and application architecture compliance.
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of experience;
  • BS, BA, Computer Science or other related degrees (boot camp and/or work experience will be a substitute for degree requirements).
  • A similar functional programming language that is not strongly input, such as learning typescripts/javascript or understanding threads and multiprocesses in a particular language.
  • Practical knowledge of AWS Lambdas or AWS Fargate.
  • Learning the standard IDE for code development.
  • Be familiar with standard code repositories (e.g. git);
  • I’m familiar with the standard package managers used by nodes.
  • We demonstrated proficiency in how to deploy the framework.
  • I’m familiar with one CI/CD framework.
  • Experience in designing and developing product functions from design to production development.
  • Previous experience supporting production environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate superior communication skills (written or verbally) including the ability to define a position and be clearly and appropriately to defend it.
  • Ability to document designs, components, or workflows with work knowledge. and
  • The ability to create and design technical workflows and divide their large projects into smaller, viable components.

  • Advanced experience in CI/CD platforms and best practices.
  • Additional experience with other AWS products such as S3, IAM, System & Secrets Manager, Elastic Container Registry, Event Bridge, API Gateway and more.
  • Experience in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. and/or
  • Experience with IAC technologies such as AWS CDK and Terraform.

Location and rewards
Staff Software Engineer is a full-time salary position with a comprehensive benefits package (details below). Based anywhere in the US, this position has an initial salary range of $135,000 to $165,000, which is worth the experience.
