If you’re looking for work, Hard Rock Tejon is inviting local businesses to learn about future vendor opportunities, ahead of their grand opening later this year. Today, we learned more about who should be keeping their eyes open.

The excitement builds as we’re getting closer to bringing Kern County’s first casino closer to reality. On Saturday, the company is preparing to offer employment and vendor opportunities.

“It really takes a village to bring something like this to life,” said Hard Rock Tejon President Chris Kelley. “If you think about it, it’s the largest hospitality investment of its kind.”

Tomorrow, there will be a forum at Bakersfield College’s Renegade Event Center on Panorama Drive. The goal is to talk about recruiting, hiring and discuss future economic partnerships within Kern County.

“You are in a food service vendor, if you’re in trade, electrical, plumbing maintenance, cleaning facility types of services marketing promotional print work all of those kind of areas like that, you should be starting to listen and pay attention to what we’re doing in the community,” said Hard Rock International Vice President of Procurement, Justin Armstrong.

Hard Rock Tejon’s President says the venue is expected to bring in 5,000 jobs to the area. Kelley also says those interested in working there don’t necessarily need experience coming in.

“We have so many different areas of the business that folks can get involved,” said Kelley. “If they don’t know the business, we will teach them dealers. A great example we will open with a dealer school, we’ll give you an opportunity to not just start on day one, but build a career that will last a lifetime.”

Hard Rock Tejon is expected to be up and running by the end of this year, and while no exact date has been set for the grand opening, people are already getting excited.

“I think a lot of people that I have spoken with, they’re really excited about because they can have that staycation,” said Tejon Indian Tribe Spokesperson, Candi Asuncion. “It’s only thirty, twenty-five minutes, thirty minutes away from home, they can have fun. The hard work is going to be so much entertainment. It’s just definitely something for everybody, and we’re all at the Tribe. We’re really excited, but people that I’ve been talking to the community are excited as well about it.”

According to the event sign-up, Saturday’s forum has already reached its maximum capacity. However, you can always visit their website to learn more about upcoming opportunities.
