About the role
Technical Leads within Hostaway are a vital technical leadership role to ensure that cross-functional teams build the right solutions to solve customer problems in a safe, scalable and scalable way for the future. High-technology leads are expected to dominate the technical maturity of each domain, and clearly sees the architectural challenges and how they can be repaired over time.
It is important to have a close relationship with the product manager of your domain. While PM brings whatyou are their companion how. Driving deeper into the business problems PM is trying to solve is key to making the right decisions about how teams shape the technical solutions to tackle.
Supported by engineering managers who help guide the team’s day-to-day delivery aspects, they can tackle specific small tasks, focus on sustainable but high-performance delivery cadence, and ensure the right candidates.

- Over 6 years of experience in SaaS software development, and at least two years of leadership role.
- I strongly prefer NodeJS expert level proficiency, TypeScript
- Strong understanding of relational databases (such as mysql and postgresql)
- We are familiar with the migration of event-driven, service-oriented architectures by applying the principles of domain-driven design (DDD)
- An event-driven messaging experience (i.e. Kinesis).
- Strong experience with unit testing (JEST or similar use)
- Experience with agile methodology and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to balance technical debt and new features in a fast-paced environment.
I’m happy to have the skills for this role:
- NOSQL database experience (such as dynamodb and mongodb)
- Experience building cloud-native apps and leverage AWS managed services
- Have used PHP in the past or not afraid to jump into some of the current PHP business logic
- Extreme Programming (XP) Agile Practices Apply, Coaching, and Teaching
- Frontend experiences for React and Micro-Frontends
- Knowledge of the practices of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Devsecops
Average days for high-tech reed
- 10:00-10:15 Quick Team Stand-Up, one of the team members seems to be working on an issue they’ve worked on before and offer to pair them with them after stand-up for support
- 10:30-14:00 Pair with one of our team members to tackle complex scalability issues and refuel those nasty brain cells during coding sessions!
- 14:00-15:00 We will be holding design sessions with the Product Manager and UX Designer for large-scale features that the team should be featured next week. You ask many questions to train the problem we are trying to solve and suggest some easier solutions that require less effort for the team.
- The 15:00-16:00 design session sparked some thoughts about other areas of the affected system. It’s easily swooping down in areas affected by code and finding technical debts that could affect system scalability or reliability. Create a simple Jira ticket, tag your product manager, prioritize it, and make sure it’s not forgotten. Also, recall mentioning a similar issue that exists in another domain team and ping the ticket to one of the technology leads in other domains.
- 16:00-16:30 Team Delivery Reliable Engineering Manager Quick Catch-Up and Minimize Review Time for How to Continue Work (WIP) and Pull Request (PR)
- 16:30-18:00 Talking about PR, there are actually some openings still. You take the final part of the day and review the team’s PR. There are several great solutions offered, but one junior engineer introduced code that was difficult to maintain and lacked unit testing. Dive into a quick call with them to explain the problem and why it matters.
