Games Workshop has been forced to pull its website, Warhammer.com, offline after the Scalpers caused the chaos during the launch of pre -orders for the siege of land: End of Ruin Special Edition Book.
The Warhammer manufacturer has launched pre -orders for the special edition of Siege of Terra: End of Ruin, a new anthology set during the consequences of the siege of land and Horus’ heresy. For the unboted, Horus’s heresy is the civil war spatial war which took place 10,000 years before the current Warhammer environment. It is the foundation of the 40k Grimdark universe and reveals how the carrion emperor ended up on the golden throne.
Siege of Terra: End of Ruin is an extremely exciting version for fans of 40k traditions, but its special edition is even more tempting. It is equipped with a leather effect cover with golden lamina details, edges of the golden page and a metal emblem of an imperial eagle in ruins.
Games Workshop had reported that the special edition would have been available “strictly to date of the shares” and that it would have been on sale at 10:00 on 10 June on June. He also told fans who planned to use a tail system “to guarantee an equitable distribution”.
Unfortunately, this tail system caused chaos, with fans desperate to pre -order the book unable to make progress. Among the frenetic complaint messages through social media, discord and Sumdddit, Warhammer.com suddenly … stopped. It was offline and nobody knew why.
The anger grew when those who had carved out the time to be there for the launch of the pre-order were left empty-handed. In the end, Games Workshop has released a statement On the debacle – a rare event in itself – to say that he had brought Warhammer.com offline himself because he had noticed that the steps were circumventing his systems.
“The Scalper tried to use robots to bypass our normal guarantees,” said Games Workshop. “Our technological priests from Eagle’s eyes caught this to happen in real time, so we pulled out Warhammer.com.”
The result is that the siege of land: End of Ruin is not currently available on Warhammer.com, in its place there is a page that requires an e -mail for a notification. Games Workshop said that the special edition is still coming, “we are absolutely determined that real fans understand it”.
“All incorrect orders are eliminated,” continued the seminary of the games. “This is our number one priority. Forgive us for a delay while we solve everything.”
The statement went somehow to calm the angry fans who had hoped for a more fluid launch of the special edition. Some are calling the actions of Games Workshop here a “little victory” on the Scalper, even if there is a healthy dose of skepticism on the company’s efforts to truly fight robots. Some ask Games Workshop to use a lottery system, as other companies do for their high -profile products or, even better, force interested customers to pass a Horus Heresy test to demonstrate their value.
In truth, Games Workshop has suffered from pre-order problems for years now and the special edition books are often afflicted by the stages that continue to sell the products at enormously inflated prices. All the eyes are on the seminar of the games to see how the pre -orders manage for the siege of the land: End of Ruin Special Edition when in the end they are relaunched.
And remember that the seminar of the games is not a fish. In fact, the company of Nottingham, in the United Kingdom, is going so well He is distributing £ 20 million (about $ 27 million) to his staff as a bonus.
The main business workshop is the sale of fans of miniatures that meet and paint for use in table wargames, such as Warhammer 40,000. But it is increasingly a business of intellectual property, with enormous revenue from successful video games like last year Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine 2And animations, like the secret level episode of Amazon by Warhammer. Games Workshop and Amazon have recently concluded an agreement for Henry Cavill’s Warhammer cinematographic universewhich will involve the creation of films and television series. Space Marine 3 is also being developed.
