President, excellence, general manager,

The Mediterranean region of the WHO EASTERTHS A third of the humanitarian load of the world and 15 % of our population requires humanitarian assistance.

The crises that take place in Gaza and Sudan – Alongside have prolonged the emergencies in Yemen, Somalia and Afghanistan – are worsened with outbreaks of diseases in progress, revealing the depth and complexity of our challenges.

With governments and partners, we have ensured trauma assistance, maintained essential services, supported the supply of medicines, outbreaks of controlled diseases and coordinated the response of the health sector.

With the right resources and access, we can offer health and hope. The vaccination campaigns against Poliomielite in Gaza last year, an emblematic case.

As part of the global emergency response from WHO, the Dubai Logistics Hub has delivered over 245 million dollars of health supplies in 145 countries since 2020.

We commit to working with the Member States to strengthen the basic skills: prevent, prepare, detect, respond and recover from emergencies.

The historic pandemic agreement, adopted by this assembly of world health, is a global commitment to guarantee that everyone, everywhere – without any position where they live – has the same right to survive in front of a pandemic.

I remain hope that next year it will bring progress towards peace, reconciliation and recovery.
