It is my great honor to join you today for the signing of the regional declaration QPT.
The establishment of a regional quadripartite health coordination mechanism is a big step forward for the health and resilience of our region.
The health of people, animals and ecosystems is deeply interconnected.
In the eastern Mediterranean region, we have seen the devastating consequences of zonotic outbreaks, antimicrobial resistance and diseases of food origin, challenges that require a unified and multisettorial response.
With 18 of the 22 countries of the region that have reported emerging zonicotic diseases in recent years and with millions affected every year by food and Amr diseases, the urgency of a health implementation could not be clearer.
This joint mechanism strengthens our collective ability to prevent, detect and respond to these threats, being consistent, avoiding duplication and making the best use of resources.
Reflects our shared commitment to advance health safety and sustainable development.
Which is proud to be next to Fao, Unep and Woah as part of this effort.
Together, through our new Plan of Regional Health Action One, we will support the countries with the tools, coordination and political commitment necessary to transform the vision into action.
The implementation of the only health approach is not optional but essential.
It takes this opportunity to build a healthier and safer world for present and future generations: a region, a world, health and a commitment.
