Nintendo Life: Cyberpunk 2077 is seen together Mario Kart WorldAs a title of the title for Switch 2. How important was it for you to be there on the first day?
Charles Tremblay: This is a large milestone for us, since we are part of a platform launch for the first time ever. We are all players ourselves, so we know how special this moment is and I would not see the time that the version of Nintendo Switch 2 does not matter from what. But the fact that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is there as a day of the day one makes the opportunity even more exciting. We couldn’t really be happier and more proud.
Cyberpunk’s launch problems in 2020 were particularly remarkable at the moment. How sure are you sure that Switch 2 version will live up to launch expectations?
We are very confident. We learned a lot from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and we spent a lot of time creating an experience that is now loved by many. Since then, we have successfully released our acclaimed expansion of the thriller Phantom Liberty – which is included next to the basic game of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to the power of the new console, we really believe that Nintendo Switch 2 will play complete experience Cyberpunk 2077.
Can you guide us through the development of the Switch 2 door? How long has it been in progress? What kind of changes were to be made to make it possible?
I cannot share the exact time sequence of the events, but I can say that we have a dedicated team of developers who work hard to bring Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition to Nintendo Switch 2. All development is done internally, with the support of Yigsoft when it comes to incorporating hardware.
Each platform has a unique series of challenges, but for the Nintendo Switch 2 version we insisted to make sure that Cyberpunk 2077 has maintained its unique visual charm, in TV and laptop mode. We used most of the technology offered by the Nintendo Switch 2 personalized NVIDIA processor, including DLSS and VRR to achieve this goal and we are very satisfied with the result! We think that Cyberpunk 2077 is fantastic on Nintendo Switch 2, and understanding how to better incorporate the unique characteristics of the console was also a fun creative challenge.
And you may have heard differently, but we want to clarify the Nintendo Switch 2 version has not been developed in seven weeks! The Build that we presented 2 events of initial experience at the Nintendo Switch was prepared seven weeks before they took place. It has been in development for much more than seven weeks.

Which lessons from your time develop The Witcher 3 For the original switch have you been able to transport in the development of Cyberpunk for Switch 2?
Working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the original Nintendo Switch has certainly given us an advantage when the work on Cyberpunk 2077 begins: Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. While the new hardware is significantly more powerful, his CPU is in the same family of the original family itself, so we already knew how to face many of the challenges at the low level. Development seemed more like a natural evolution than a complete restoration.
In addition to pure power, what did you find that makes the 2 switch 2 other than developing compared to the original switch?
One of the greatest differences was in the development of a platform that was still evolving! Working on hardware that was actively iterated arrived with its own series of challenges, but fortunately Nintendo was very favorable and responsible throughout the process. Whenever we hit an obstacle, they were ready to commit and help us beyond.
Can you deepen what players can expect from mouse, gyroscope and touch on Switch 2 checks?
Absolutely. Mouse controls work in a very similar way to the PC version. You can use the optical sensor to point a weapon or select the dialogue options or anything else you would do when you traditionally use a mouse. The gyroscope is incorporated for players looking for that greater precision but while using the sticks on the Joy-Con 2 or Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller controllers. Players can aim as normally, but use the gyroscope (if they want it, as this can be off) to hit the blow to the perfect head or anything else. Finally, the portable touch control checks must make menu navigation much simpler. Pinking, touching or scrolling your way through the menus makes you feel a real netrunner!
Apart from the graphics, will the release of Cyberpunk Switch 2 have equal with other versions of console and PC as regards the customization of the content and characters?
Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition has everything that is included in other versions of the game. All the personalization options of the characters, the additional game goodies, the Phantom Liberty expansion and absolutely everything else are included in this version of the game. We really understand it when we say that we are bringing the complete experience of Cyberpunk 2077 to Nintendo Switch 2 players.
Is there an opportunity to introduce some Nintendo themed cosmetics in the Switch 2 version? You know we want to see V in a toad hat, or even a Samus arm cannon!
Wouldn’t it be a big crossover? Who knows – maybe one day he will come to life, but at the moment we don’t have such plans.
Your decision to include the entire game on a 64 GB cartridge has been praised by fans, in which many other third -party developers choose to release their Physical Switch games as a game keys. What has led to this decision and how will it have an impact on the earnings of the CDPR from the press release?
Before realizing ourselves games, and we were only locating and distributing them for other developers, we tried to give our physical versions (obviously the only option then) lots of love and attention including extra chicche for players such as physical maps and so on.
All the personalization options of the characters, the additional game goodies, the Phantom Liberty expansion and absolutely everything else are included in this version of the game. We really understand it when we say that we are bringing the complete experience of Cyberpunk 2077 to Nintendo Switch 2 players.
This inheritance continued in our games as the original The Witcher and in the end Cyberpunk 2077, since we have given the physical versions the same level of attention (and Nintendo Switch 2 The players should also expect some more goodies in the box). So it was a simple decision when it was to include the entire Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on the game card. We wanted the players who bought physically to have the best possible experience and be able to play immediately. As for the earnings, we cannot share any detail.
Based on what you have seen from the Switch 2 hardware so far, is the team open to the possibility of a port of Witcher 4 in the future? Shouldn’t we hope?
I appreciate enthusiasm, but for now we are all able to bring Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition to Nintendo Switch 2.
Can we only imagine that everyone’s focus at this moment on your team is to get cyberpunk in the top form for Switch 2, but would we like to know if there are hopes to embellish the release of Switch 1 of Witcher 3 for Switch 2?
Your imagination is right! Similar to my last answer, we are totally focused on bringing Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition to Nintendo Switch 2, so I can’t comment otherwise.
