The former UFC light weight champion Alex Pereira says that his social media were hacked after a tweet mentioned the pension.
Pereira, 37, fought the last time in March when he lost his UFC belt in Magomed Ankalaev, and is currently in negotiations to fight Russian again.
In a post on Wednesday Pereira said he was “discouraged” with the UFC and that he had “thoughts not to fight anymore”.
Pereira is the largest current UFC star and after a few hours of speculation, the Brazilian published a video from his Instagram account saying that it was not a statement he made.
“I received a lot of messages, receiving messages from everyone, who saw a post from my Twitter,” said Pereira in Portuguese.
