The Pokémon company has revealed That the Pokémon Fossil Museum, a traveling exhibition of Pokémon skeletons and fossils for pudding paleontologists, will leave Japan for the first time in 2026.
The first exhibition for the debut outside Japan will be a CHICAGO Museum of Campo in Illinoisand it is due to the opening May 22, 2026. This gives you a whole year to start saving to visit.
The exhibition is a mix of real “natural” real replicas of Pokémon skeletons and comparisons with real fossils. Will be up to aspiring researchers to identify similarities and differences between artists of the caliber of His The T.rex and Tyrantrum or Archeopteryx and Archeops. In other words, it is a great way to see how real, live and extinct animals act as inspiration for our favorite Pokémon.
The exhibition it has been from 2021 And he traveled throughout Japan from his debut, so it’s fantastic to see him directly abroad. No end date has yet been announced, but in Japan the exhibition generally remains in 1-4 months.
If you want to have an idea of what it will be, you can take a look at a virtual recreation of the exhibition at Matport Discovery (via Serebii). Or you can watch the following video from Pkmnkuriruwho managed to visit one of the exhibitions in 2022.
It is worth noting that every single exhibition has some slight differences, so what you see in Chicago next year could be quite different from what was on display in the “Solar” museum of Hofu Science or in the Niigata Science Museum.
In Japan, at least, there was a lot of exclusive commodity to collect while the exhibition was in progress, so we will have to wait and see if the North American version will have the same.
Will you plan a trip to Chicago next May? Let us know if you managed to visit one of the exhibitions in Japan in the comments.
