Hey everyone, the director of the game mafia Alex Cox here. On behalf of the Hangar 13 team, we are excited to reveal our new game trailer for Mafia: the old country.
With so many in-game details on which Pore, I wanted to take the opportunity to offer some more intuitions on all the exciting actions we have just revealed. Here is a break on some of the finest details that we put in every trailer scene:
Like our protagonist, Enzo Favara, Cavalca after receiving orders from Don Torrisi, could notice the affantible contrasts between the various environments of Sicily in 1900. From the dirt roads flanked by rural villages with dark catacombs, ornate residences and more, the distinctive setting of the game includes a wide variety of richly detailed rooms, all authentically overlapping in a unique way for this time in rapid change. We were spoiled for choice when we decided which visually stunning panoramas would be served as a realistic background for our gritty criminal drama.
Following Enzo while descending into an ancient cistern, he will take a closer look at the mafia: the rooted combat and suitable for the era of the old town-time to whom a brutal showcase of the Enzo Stiletto blade in action. After having quietly sent the guard out, Enzo distracted the next patrol enemy before burying a knife around his neck. By identifying another guard nearby, the blade lashes, killing it silently from a moment too late when the others are notified.
Even if the situation explodes in a clash over a tense fire, this meeting highlights how the gameplay merges the stealth with burning combat. Each approach integrates the other, creating a more snappy and more short resource experience. Enzo may have lost two shots, but with the help of his knife and an explosive lantern, he cancels the room using only four bullets. A central pillar of the mafia: the combat design of the old country is the idea that “each bullet counts” – so think twice about relying exclusively on your firearms!
Subsequently, a fiery cut takes us to another staple in franchise: white guide. This time, Enzo is behind the wheel of a car at the end of the century, which moves along the same dirt roads rough once worn by the horses. These vehicles handle with the weight and oddities that you would expect from a vintage car, but you can still count on an electrifying guide gameplay game. Throughout the Mafia series, we have always been proud to tune our game vehicles to authentically capture the feeling of older cars-and cars in the old country are no exception.
By exploding in another bloody gunfight, we double the mafia: the philosophy of “each bullet” of the old country in a slightly different context. After breaking down an enemy close, Enzo is missing his next shot and only two rounds remain in his revolver. Instead of rejecting to recharge, it goes down the cover and approaches a rifle for a close range exchange. Carrying out counting bullets is not just that of running away for ammunition; Sometimes, pushing aggressively forward is the most intelligent – or even essential tactical choice for your survival. The veterans of the mafia will feel at home in these adrenaline fueled shootings and we know that the added edge of the danger will resonate with the long -term fans of the franchise.
And while it is easy to focus on the action in this sequence, we do not neglect the incredible approach: the sumptuous banquet hall of a theater of the work. This extraordinary scene shows the visual improvements that we have been able to obtain since we passed to Unreal Engine 5. The new set of tools has allowed our team to fill the environments with more details than ever, perfectly integrating the most realistic approach to the combat of the game.
Of course, events and chases entities will not be limited to football or driving sequences: you will also have to take the reins on horseback. Pursuant or fighting the enemies on the road could involve horses, cars, pistols or any combination of the three – another example of how the mafia: the unique setting of the old country opens the door to fresh twists and turns on the type of action you know and love.
Finally, the last section highlights as a mafia: the old country brings knife combat to a completely new level with individual duels. Inspired by the Sicilian fighting traditions of the knives, these lethal encounters take place in the fundamental moments of history-when Enzo must put his life in line for the Crime Torri family. It is a new compelling way for our hero to stand and personally with his enemies and for us to deliver fans of life or death.
There is much more that I could say about this rich criminal drama, but I cannot give more details without further breaking Omertá. Having said that, you would do your eyes open for more information in the coming weeks.
The team and I can’t wait for you to have a mafia: the old country when it is launched on August 8th. The game is available for pre-order now on PlayStation 5.
