For the guardians, there are always new corners of the cosmos to explore, new stories in which to immerse yourself and new adventures to conquer. Today, Bungie development team behind Destiny 2 Give the world a first look at what will come later: the epic start of a brand new fate saga!
During the revelation event, the Destiny 2 developers revealed the year of prophecy, including a mix of deep dives and Sneaks for the next two expansions of the game: The Edge of Fate, which will be released on July 15 and Renegades, which follows on December 2, with both available for the pre-order now. The two campaigns will not only start the history of the brand new Fai saga, but will launch together with a variety of changes to the basic systems and game mechanics aimed at refreshing the way the players face the challenges-and the premiers-game has to offer.
Even if we cannot cover everything with the space we have here, we hit some of the greatest highlights of today’s event and we give you a taste of what to expect in the year to come for Destiny 2.
The nine call
With the appropriate Fate saga, the Guardians can ask great questions in their place and role in the universe. Questions such as: What is fate? What (or who) is out there and are planning for us to find them? These cosmic mysteries and others are at the center of this new plot and, with the edge of fate, to return players and new guardians will skip aboard a new narrative; One who will reward long -standing fans who are familiar with the destiny tradition, while they are also served as an ideal entry point for the new players.
“Before the traveler has ever arrived in our Solar System, there was already magic here,” said Director of the game of Destiny Robbie Stevens. “With the saga of fate, we want to explore one of Destiny’s greatest mysteries: the foundations of our universe.”
That investigation begins with the nine – enigmatic celestial beings who existed … well, for a long time, long. Destiny players have seen and listened to suggestions on this pantheon of extra -dimensional beings, but the mystery behind them will be one of the main drivers of the action in the saga of fate.
Near the edge
At the limit of fate, the Guardians will respond to an invitation from a member of the Nine, leading them to a new destination on the edge of the Solar System: Kepler’s mysterious planetoid. Wrapped in a powerful dark matter, Kepler is a new type of destination for Destiny players. “We took inspiration from experiences such as Dreaming City, Dungeons, exotic missions and Metroidvaias when they create the advantage of fate,” said the narrative director of Destiny 2 Alison Luhrs. “At the center of the edge of fate is the discovery and exploration guided by players who use new destination skills.”
These destination skills will present new powerful features to players who can activate to help resolve puzzles or use in combat. Matterspark is an excellent example, allowing the guardian the ability to turn into an energy ball. “Transforming into a matter allows you to squeeze through tight spaces, jump and precipitate through the environment and become a rolling ball of death, the shocking and jumping enemies that dare to come across you,” said Stevens. Other examples include the transfer cannon focusing on the void that allows you to teleport all over the world and Materrmorph that combines dark matter and filament to allow the guardian to manipulate the environment that surrounds them.
Beyond the new narrative, new characters (take a look at the replay of revelation events for an introduction to the new member of the cast of destiny characters, Lodi) and the new destination and skill, the Bungie team was difficult for work to innovate the main hobby to play destiny and respond to fans’ feedback. An excellent example is the new OPS playlist, the perfect mode for players who don’t have much time and prefer to play alone.

To stimulate your appetite, the ritual of the nine-a prologue for the edge of fate-session launched today in Destiny 2. This dungeon themed event presents new ways of difficulty that challenge the veterans players and welcome the guardians who have never set foot in a basement or want to go alone in Explore mode. Moving the depths of the rite and you can earn special gold to nine theme weapons.
