FoxBorough, Mass. – Patriots of New England The defensive coordinator Terrell Williams is not with the Rookie Minicamp team, saying that on Friday he was a “fear of health” while returning home to Detroit for the spring holidays at school in late March.
Williams refused to reveal the details – saying he would do it in the future – but he sent that the doctors told him to stay there for now.
“I want to clarify, I am far from the building, but I’m not far from the team,” he said, thanking doctors, nurses and therapists who have managed his care and rehabilitation.
Williams did not put a temporal sequence on his return, saying: “I am working remotely now. I hope to be able to return soon and stay in the building and be with everyone … they say only now that I am fine and appreciate all the prayers of everyone”.
The coach of Linebackers Zak Kuhr managed Williams’ responsibilities in his absence, according to coach head Mike Vramel.
Williams is in his first season as a defensive coordinator. He joined the NFL in 2012 as a coach of the defensive line with the Raiders (2012-14) before managing the same role with the Delfini (2015-17), Titans (2018-23) and Lions (2024).
Williams described him as a “alarm” for him, spreading a message that hopes can help others.
“We all have different stress levels. Football is a job that obviously there is a little stress. Just eat well. Training. If you should take any drugs, take it. As I said to the players, we all think that we are invincible,” he said.
“I think many times, when there are things you can prevent, and you don’t prevent them, it’s not just being intelligent. It is what I have done in the last two years, even longer. I ignored the doctors. I have ignored everyone and I lived my life. While it was fun, I realize that you have to take care of yourself. It is what I am doing.
“Where I am now, my mind is clear. I move. I’m happy. It’s all right. It’s not looking forward to returning to Foxborough and see everyone in person.”
Williams shares a close link with VRabel, who started in 2018 when he joined his technical staff in Tennessee. He said VRABEL checks -in with him every day, usually first in the morning.
Likewise, the 36 -year -old Kuhr was in the staff of the Titans under VRabel from 2020 to ’23. Williams said the defense is in “Great Hands” with Kuhr and VRabel has also expressed his trust in him.
“Zak has a great knowledge of what we have done in the past, with me and this system and with Terrell,” said VRabel.
