Logitech has announced new keyboard cases for iPad Pro and iPad Air models. It’s not a completely new idea for the company – with that combo touch case you can remove the keyboard – but new Flip Folio keyboard It has a much smaller footprint and is more flexible when it comes to where it can be used.
The Flip Folio costs $159.99 for versions compatible with the 13-inch iPad Air and iPad Pro models, or slightly smaller cases compatible with the 11-inch versions of those tablets. Depending on the colour you want, availability can be a little more complicated. The graphite version will be released globally in June 2025. This is a black option only in North America. The pale gray and lilac versions will debut in September 2025 with “in selected regions” and will also debut with sand options, which are exclusive to North America.
Both large and small versions of the wireless keyboard are just a little just an inch thick and weigh less than 207 grams. Each is designed to magnetically adhere to the back of the flip folio case without adding too much thickness. Includes a dedicated iPados shortcut key and multi-device Bluetooth pairing, making it easy to switch between using on your tablet, smartphone or computer.
Battery life is estimated to be up to 2 years, but that depends on how often you use the keyboard. The keyboard also does not have a USB port to connect to the device using a rechargeable battery or a cable, so you will need to replace the coin cell battery. It’s always wireless.
The flip folio case itself provides front and rear protection for the iPad. It magnetically connects to the tablet, allowing you to place your iPad in either landscape or portrait orientation when used as a multi-angle support stand. With vertical support for iPads, Flip Folio has a little extra space to support your smartphone, allowing you to place them side by side to extend multitasking.
