Renu Sudhi, wife of late comedian Kollam Sudhi, faces cyberattacks after starting modeling. Anoop, director of ‘Star Magic,’ defends her and urges respect for her choices

Renu Sudhi, wife of the late Malayali comedian Kollam Sudhi, has been subjected to numerous cyberattacks after she ventured into modelling and photoshoots following her husband’s death.
Kollam Sudhi died in a car accident a year and a half ago. Subsequently, Renu turned to photoshoots and acting. This newfound visibility is believed to be the main reason behind the cyber harassment she is currently facing.
Kollam Sudhi, a beloved figure among Malayali audiences, passed away in a car accident while returning from a mimicry programme. In the aftermath of his death, Renu and her family received substantial support from the stars of the ‘Star Magic’ show. Multiple videos have surfaced showing Lakshmi Nakshathra and her colleagues extending help to Renu.
Anoop John, the director of the ‘Star Magic’ show, has recently expressed his concern over the online harassment faced by Renu. He emphasised that no one has the right to interfere in Renu’s life or career. He asserted that Renu needs to make a living. Despite receiving various job offers, Renu declined them, feeling unfit for those roles, and instead pursued a career in the entertainment field.
“No one has the right to interfere in someone else’s life or career. We had helped Renu find work in several places, but she chose to step back saying she wasn’t the right fit for those jobs. Only after all that did she choose this field. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but no one should intrude into her personal life,” Anoop was quoted as saying by Kerala Kaumudi, a Malayalam daily.
“During the show’s run, many people would comment asking why he (Kollam Sudhi) was even part of it. But it was his innocence that people loved. People would watch him even if he simply smiled. At the same time, there were those who hurled insults too. Now, the same people are attacking Sudhi chettan’s wife. Let her live life the way she wants,” he added.
Anoop highlighted an incident where Lakshmi Nakshathra reportedly gifted Renu a perfume that she had specifically requested, one that reminded her of her late husband. Although this gesture was made at Renu’s request, it was misinterpreted and led to further criticism. Anoop stressed the importance of respecting Renu’s choices and not distorting the actions of those who support her.
