A new remaster of the original gears is coming, since Microsoft has announced Gears of War: Reloaded for Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and Steam. It is coming to Game Pass on the first day for Ultimate subscribers. This is only Microsoft’s last remaster, following the success of the debut of Oblivion Remaster in April.
Gears of War: Reloaded arrives on August 26 for $ 40 and will also be available for streaming via Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game supports the cross game and crossed progression on all platforms. Anyone who already owns the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be recharged for free.
Refill features 4K resolution 120fps support and multiplayer. “This is the definitive way to experiment with the game that started everything,” said Microsoft.
“While we approach the 20th anniversary of Gears of War in 2026, we are reflecting on what this franchise means. It concerns the stories we told, the friendships we built and unforgettable moments that we shared together. With Gears of War: recharged, we are opening that door to more players than ever,” said Microsoft.

The recharged package includes everything from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which was launched in 2015 and was itself a remaster of the 2006 Original Gears of War game. This includes the basic game with all post-launch expansions, which cover multiplayer maps and methods, characters and cosmetics.
Reloaded supports the local divided screen or online for, with two players cooperative for the countryside and up to eight multiplayer players. A Microsoft account is not required to play, but AND required to unlock the “complete multiplatform functionality” in terms of enabling the crossed progression.
