I don’t care so much of sales figures, but if the creator Eric Barone worried more about money, I can only imagine that a sequel would be almost guaranteed. Apparently, however, the developer could actually see himself making a sequel to The Beloved Agricultural sim.
Barone recently appeared on the Podcast Tiger Belly (thanks, Gamesradar), in which the guest Bobby Lee asked why it doesn’t just do a Startew Valley 2 when it constantly releases new updates. “It is much easier to add only more things to Stardew Valley than to play a completely new game from scratch,” explains Barone. “Because Stardew Valley, all the systems, the main systems, are already all done. This is the stuff that is not fun to do. When I make an update, it is how, launching it, throwing it, we add the green rain. These random ideas I have. Stravagant ideas.”
He noticed that many of these ideas derive from the game alone and think: “Oh, wouldn’t it be nice if there was this or that?” And then I can only do it, and this is a new update.
And then came the comment that struck me in my heart: “I could possibly make a Stardew Valley 2, to tell the truth.” I say fear, because Barone struggles not to update the original game, so much so that it is Somehow forcing to stop working so that we can actually finish the infested chocolate. However, Barone also said that although he does not deny the possibility of a Stardew Valley 2, he doesn’t just want to be the boy from Standew Valley, that’s why I’m doing Haunted chocolate. ”
