King Charles III. And Queen Camilla arrived at the beginning of a two -day visit to Canada, which is regarded as the sovereignty of the country in the midst of President Trump’s threats to transform the northern neighbor of the United States into 51st Condition.
The king was hit at the airport in the capital of Ottawa by dignitaries, including Canada’s new Prime Minister Mark Carney, and the first indigenous general of General of the country, Mary Simon, the representative of the king in Canada.
Carney, who was elected on an anti-Trump platform in April, asked the king shortly after he had become a leader of the liberal political party. At that time, Trump had imposed Canada tariffs and mocked to annex the country.
In a statement, Carney said that the king’s visit was a historical honor that corresponds to the weight of the time.
“It speaks for our permanent tradition and friendship, the vitality of our constitutional monarchy and our clear identity as well as the historical ties that only attach crises,” said Carney.
Carney and the king are supposed to organize a meeting during the visit.

On Tuesday, King Charles will read a speech from the throne to open a new session of the Canadian parliament. The first time that a monarch since 1977 when Queen Elizabeth spoke to the Senate.
It will be a largely ceremonial event, but it underlines a clear difference in how the democracies of the USA and Canada differ. Canada is a constitutional monarchy and the king is the country of the country Head of state.
The Canadian government’s plans for the future speaks the speech. Although it is read by Charles, it is written by Carney’s office and is expected to defend Canada’s sovereignty – similar to the prime minister on the campaign path.
This is Charles’ first trip to Canada since his king in 2023. An earlier trip for the last year was canceled after he was diagnosed with cancer. He often spoke warmly about Canada and his people and described them “external -looking, large -scale people” during a visit in May 2022.
