Santiago, Chile – it is autumn in South America and Chile’s capital Santiago, which means a good hiking weather in the steep hills above the city.
Santiago is huge, more than six million people who spread to the country in the Central Valley flat. Vulkangestein hills are forested hills from the busy city parts of the city.
After a few minutes of climbing, noise and crowds give way to the pine forests, birds and prospects.
Trees, wildflowers and cacti disturb the paths on Cerro San Cristobal.

The dust path gets past the beautiful old stone walls on Cerro San Cristobal. There are wildflowers and enough shade under the pepper grain trees everywhere to sit on a warm Sunday morning and enjoy the view.

Despite the sun, there was still fog in the valley that day. The towers and hills of the city seemed to float on clouds.
Near the summit, two men who are Park Rangers drive past beautiful brown horses.

The tip of San Cristobal rises almost a thousand foot over Santiago. It can be overcrowded. There is a high -towering white statue of the Virgin Mary, in which people go to pray.
But a side path leads into the trees in which the forest opens astonishing view of the city and the Andes in the distance. The mountains rise like a curtain wall, crowned by a long string base of snow fields and ice cream against the blue sky.
Santiago extends over Chile Central Valley, but the city is framed by the high -flying Andes.
