Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers include mouse features that opens the new system up to even more games. We have already seen how third parties like Civilization VII It will support this function when the new device arrives this June and it seems that other developers are just enthusiastic.
Talking to Recent RPG siteStephen Kick, CEO of Nightdive, has noticed how great the addition of the mouse is as many of the games of his study are obviously “destined to be played” in this way:
“When I saw the support of the mouse for Switch 2, it was a bit what it passed through the mind. It was like, Oh boy, many of our games, that’s how they were initially destined to play. So it would also have been nice to have that option.”
He also mentioned how he would like to get the System shock remake on Nintendo platforms at some point – with the Second game coming to the Switch next month. And imagine the support of the mouse in both these titles!
While Switch 2 mouse controls have not had the biggest reception, they are certainly a welcome feature, since players can literally exchange their style of play on the fly, without having to connect a real mouse or something. It also means that the developers will be able to consider more games for the platform and perhaps also some genres that normally would not be on a Nintendo platform or console in general.
Some other games that highlight the mouse skills on the switch include Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Drag x drive and the next release of nitrome Mouse workwhich presents what is almost like a WarioWare-Style Collection of Party Games.
Nintendo has also recently confirmed that the functionality of the mouse on Joy-Con 2 controllers will allow you to navigate in the Switch Home menu.
