London – Two men were convicted on Friday because they dismantled the beloved Sycamore Gap Tree in Northern England in 2023.
A jury of the Newcastle Crown Court found Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers owe to fell the tree for two cases and plunge it onto the wall of the old Hadrian.
The jury thought about four hours on Thursday and took a judgment after less than 30 minutes on Friday morning.
The accused, once close friends, both said that they had nothing to do with falling the tree. Graham showed his finger on Carruthers.
But the prosecutors played a video from Graham’s cell phone, which was cut down, and showed that his range Rover had traveled towards the tree the night when he was felled in September 2023.
